Dear Parents and Skaters,
We would like to welcome you to our 2002/2003 skating season and hope you all had an enjoyable summer vacation.
Our
skating season is kicking off August 23rd, 2002 for all skaters.
Sweatshirts are available for purchase at a cost of $15.00.
Please make sure your child has small gloves for their hands, and your
daughters have beige leotards to wear under their club blue skirt.
Please do not forget your child’s helmet; remember they are mandatory
for the beginners.
The
club will be running its weekly half-and-half again this year.
This takes place during the Canskate programs, we have had tremendous
support from our parents in the past and we hope the support will be there again
this year.
Christmas
catalogues will again be given out to every skater in the club, distribution of
these catalogues will be late September. You
will receive a letter with your catalogues advising you of deadline date as well
as the delivery date. This
fundraiser has proven extremely successful to our club.
We
will again be holding our Annual Skate-athon.
This will go towards our Ice Revue, this year it will be held on
Saturday, November 23rd from 11:00 – 12:45 p.m.
We are hoping for a large turn out.
Parents are again welcome to join their children for a fee of $2.00. We will again have door prizes, high pledge prizes, snacks
for all.
We
will hold our Annual Banquet again this year, this year we will do a supper on
Saturday, March 15th from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.
at Jubilee Hall (arena).
Our
Ice Revue will be held on Saturday April 12th, and Sunday, April 13th,
2003. We are hoping for a
super registration turn out this year. It
is a great and memorable weekend for the children.
Our club coach, Karen Small will be teaching the Canskate sessions this year along with our club Program Assistants and Runners. The director in charge of these programs is Laura Megran and she is busy putting together dates for Theme Days on Ice. Please see attached list. Keep in mind these dates are very important as the children look forward to dressing up and feel left out if Mom or Dad forgot to remind them.
Parents
please retain this important list, as we will not be giving our individual
notices or calls. Please check the
bulletin board in the dressing room hallway this will always provide information
of upcoming events, cancellations and other skating matters.
Congratulations
to all skaters who have past tests through the spring and summer sessions at 4
Glaces.
We
look forward to a great fun filled skating season and feel free to approach
Laura Megran if you have any questions.
